The event offers an overview of major research directions in probability and stochastic processes, introducing advanced students and researchers to current topics, key ideas, and central methods in the field.
Held biennially since 1998, the School has become a major regional event, known for its world-class lecturers and its role in fostering collaboration and disseminating frontier research in probability and stochastic processes. This edition is jointly organized by the Institute of Mathematics of the UNAM and CIMAT, Guanajuato, with additional support from LAREMA in Angers, France. It will be followed by a research workshop framed within the same French–Mexican collaboration, further strengthening academic ties and stimulating new joint research initiatives.
Courses in this edition
Jorge Garza Vargas(California Institute of Technology)Strong Convergence of Random Matrices
Saraí Hernández Torres(Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México)The Geometry of the Uniform Spanning Tree in Three Dimensions
Justin Salez(Université Paris Dauphine, CEREMADE) Modern Aspects of Markov Chains: Entropy, Curvature and the Cutoff Phenomenon
Paul Thévenin(Université d’Angers, LAREMA)Introduction to the Infinite Noodle
These courses explore cutting-edge and highly interdisciplinary topics that lie at the interface of probability with analysis, combinatorics, geometry, among others. In addition to the minicourses, the program includes plenary lectures by French and Mexican researchers working in various areas of probability and stochastic processes, showcasing active lines of research and encouraging further interaction among participants.
